Hypocrite

One year ago, my roommate told me this album had made not only best of the year, but one of the best of the decade. At the time I had never heard of the album or band and scoffed at the claim. He went on to play me a few segments and I wondered how an album so tedious and mediocre could be considered by anyone to be one of the best of the decade.

He persisted in listening to it over the next few weeks and finally I started listening a little closer. One year later, I have just picked it up on vinyl. Not only do I think this is a great album, but it has been on of my most listened to albums of 2010.

With the Avett Brothers, I definitely have no qualms in admitting how wrong I was. Do yourself a favor: listen to this album in full over and over. Then, pass it to a friend. They'll thank you.
