goals are distracting

i dont know why i bother setting goals for my summer vacations - most of them fall by the way side by inability to stay motivated or just not enough time. i am keeping up on two goals however - watch as many phillies games as i can manage (have only missed a few - one being a day game while at work) - and play guitar every day.

yesterday i had a scary spell of bad health. while talking online around 930 i got the sensation you get when you look right at a bright light or the sun - that lingering spot. i got nervous when it was just as noticeable after 10 minutes - another 10 and i was really frustrated - not so much worried but just mad it wouldnt clear, then i started burning up and a headache ensued. a bottle of water and a bowl of ice cream later and i only felt nautious and had not shaken the headache, spot, or overheating so i went upstairs shut off all my lights and laid down - needless to say i woke up at 1 am (still feeling shitty) and decided id just stay asleep.

woke up today feeling fine, other than a bit of lingering nausea. grill day was a success - cant cmplain about a company that allots me the responsibility/respect/treatment as a fellow employee and not just a relative who got hired to do peoples work they cant get to, and a place i can barbeque at for lunch.

bought my tv for my apt today. lost a great one today. still in shock. im still waiting for the report that says TMZ was incorrect he is stll alive but it hasnt happened.

SoulPancake has another great prompt today: "

Describe a moment in time when you wanted to either stretch out or even pause your life—the last time you talked to a loved one; a spiritual experience; or a perfect vacation day."

its a good one to reflect one

also i realize i never followed up on my last post about the 5 things i miss now that theyr gone.

in no particular order: recess, vacations with my family to new locations, summers with my two cousins, innocence, wondering what things might be like 'when i grew up'. (adding on another one) -the feeling of true awe or 'wow' sensation you get when your a child and experience something truly breathtaking like your first fireworks display or trip to disneyworld

that last one still hapens but theres no as much wonderment or magic to the daydreams about the future - not as many things seem possible

trying to keep this going

So,
Todays launch went well in that almost everyone got on the site and had alot of feedback, but the login feature broke about 3 hours in and so most people just got to view the site from the public side. login function still broken

phillies continue to stress, strain, and ultimately lose their lead in the final moments/inning of the game.

getting sick of only seeing the sun once a week.

falling asleep on the way to/from work more often and its only mid june

found out the the positioning of the earth is so perfect/the habitiability of this planet is so fragile that if the earth was tilted 1 more degree in either direction the earth would not be habitable as areas near the equator would be too hot and the poles too cold to survive

iphone 3.0 woulda been sweet if at&t hadnt dropped the ball making the two biggest advancements - the tethering and MMS delayed to 2010 and late summer respectively. so tomorrows big os upgrade is a universal search function and copy/paste

soulpancake is continuing to move up on my list of sites i look forward to checking. blog style site backed by rainn wilson with brain prompt and thoughtful propositions and reflections. one of todays was the following. after reflecting on the ability to still buy a polaroid camera but polaroid film no longer available, or the nostalgic feeling a mailed letter (something from another person and not the million adds or bills that com in the mail) can bring in the age of texting a twitter the blog prompted:

what 5 things do you miss the most now that they are gone?

love the question - haven't given it much thought and while im sure i could rattle of 5 quick ones like pogs and or new episodes of arrested development i will try to post again tomorrow with some real ones. ill start with this: 1.) recess

time between meals

so apparently i can go from 745 to about 6 pm with eating little more than a pack of pop tarts working at my petes produce job. sure there are several handfuls of ice chips and occasionally a chip from the sample tray but i guess im just busy enough there that it never even crosses my mind. luckily it goes unnoticeable as i havent changed in weight for awhile despite my changes in eating habits.

i have had trouble getting motivated to get back on here but i have time to kill right now and figured i should. since leaving school i have fallen behind on everything but work. stopped reading, stopped watching in treatment, stopped going to the movies, or really watching them.

i have, however, picked up my baseball attention and have caught almost every phils game i could have and have been to one.

saw my apartment - and i am very excited for the fall. fordham/newyork totally has a different and more positive vibe to it when you are there on your own terms and not on campus, dorm style living, with classes - very happy i made the trip - and more will follow

not only have we gotten lucky with a couch and chair left behind, and jake pulling in a coffee table, and mike getting all sorts of things handed to him, but my sister's bf has pulled through as his parents are giving me their pull-out couch and his roomate is giving me two black wood end tables.

heading out tonight to P.F. Changs to celebrate (overdue) my good friend Clare's graduation from St. Joe's U.

Oh, and this morning my cousin David and his wife had a babby boy. Dylan Angelo Blankenship!!

Id like to pretend that makes me an uncle, even though it doesn't.

Peace out yall

heat heat heat

boy is it getting warm quickly.  its hard to notice when you work in an office 40 hrs a week but spending 8 hours outside yesterday at work (2nd job) really rubbed in just how hot it was.  when you break a sweat in a t-shirt at 8 am water plants - you know its hot (unless you just sweat easily).

have yet to see a summer movie- although i finally caught taken (thanks to alex).  hopefully i will get to see brothers bloom tonight.  my plan to do wii fit daily was foiled by a series of days where i was responsible for making dinner for the family, and yard work but i will do my best to get back on it.  started reading, but like mike, have  struggled to make much progress.

people start moving into their apts soon and im excited to see this new chapter begin - despite the continual hohum-ing from my suite mates i think it will be miles better than living on campus.

im going to keep pushing www.weloveyouso.com as it is a really amazing blog to check out.  other than that - hope all is well. stay cool.

i will leave you with a fact from my new app on my iphone (pause for eye rolling):
'minnows have teeth in their throat'.

shall we begin.

so i have been out of school for almost 1 week at this point and a bunch of things are happening.  i am on the eve of my first day of work at my new job at anesthesia services of PA (in delaware).  i am going to be working at my first job - Pete's Produce Farm which is less than 2 minutes from my house on saturdays from 8-7.  Hopefully the combined will provide me with a bit of cash.  2 weeks until official move in day of the new apartment.  Probably going to paint it, if allowed - any suggestions?

I have not been to the movies yet, despite the slew of films coming out weekly.  I was given a positive recommendation on Angels and Demons so whether its a great film is up in the air but better than davinci keeps getting thrown around.

hair is cut.  saw taken.  enjoying the wii fit.  going to start bike riding.  considering picking up skateboarding, again.  camping round 1 is over - no real pics...the major picture day found itself rained on (not to say we didnt still do what we planned..but cameras were hidden away to survive the storm).

i will try to do this posting thing more often - especially since ill be on a computer 40 hours a week

congrats to all the grads this year both high school and college.  hope all is well.

also (and this is for me really) im very happy/excited that fox is renewing Dollhouse for another season, that show, once it got going really had alot to it and im glad theyr giving it more life.  cant wait for the DVD and the bonus ep - Epitaph One.

dinner time!

its about escaping

so this will be my final blog post...for a few days (fooled you..you being one of 3 people who reads this).  anyway...heading out to go camping with highschool friends for a few days.  pretty much 0 communication once we get there..so i will be cut off from the world and its one of the best parts of my year...i know i shouldnt argue how blissful it is to escape from the technological side of society for a few days since i indulge in facebook, always on instant messager, twitter, myspace, etc...but as much as i love those...days without them can be so refreshing.

anyway...by the time i return it will be the eve of so many friends graduations and to them and to everyone else this graduating this year - congratulations! and you will be missed around fordham.

finally - there are so many movies coming out this year..literally one a week for most of the summer, sometimes two in one weekend - but that is not where it ends..this fall promises to give us some incredible films - two of them were meant to come out last year but got delayed (hopefully for the better, although thats rare). both based on beloved books, one of our adult years and one of our childhood years - the road, and where the wild things are look to be absolutely brilliant.  the dudes who are working on WTWTA started a blog abotu 3 weeks ago with different bands, music vidoes, films, art that inspire them and in someway influence their work on WTWTA located at www.weloveyouso.com

the road, while nothing has been seen in a video format, - many stills have been released showing some pretty breathtaking locations/scenes.  the general description of the film/story is written as :Nothing moves in the ravaged landscape save the ash on the wind. It is cold enough to crack stones, and when the snow falls it is gray. The sky is dark. Their destination is the coast, although they don’t know what, if anything, awaits them there. They have nothing; just a pistol to defend themselves against the lawless bands that stalk the road, the clothes they are wearing, a cart of scavenged food—and each other.

are you not at all interested?

through the hurricane waters

despite that title seemingly being in reference to the rain today - i just have that citizen cope song in my head.  anywho - i was told i'm not updating this enough but shit is a bit crazy, although i did take yesterday off

haven't had a final yet - just things due, and now it all hits me and of course it is as everyone i live with is moving out for the summer - talk about poor motivation.

scrubs season finale was great, and the finales of the other million shows i watch are coming up fast.  i'm looking forward to summer but am disappointed to be leaving fordham for a few reasons - not because i love my living quarters or my classes or anything like that but because summer at fordham seems like something i would have liked to do.  additionally i have become friends with some people this year and some not until very recently who will be leaving this place for good in a number of days and even though i look forward to ending this semester that has felt vacant with the number of friends who went abroad - i cant help but second guess this wish because it is at the sacrifice of some people who i didn't have enough time to get to know.
come
so to everyone who is graduating - cheers!...back and visit - there will always be a place for you to sleep

back to work
