Off In The Light You Go

I finished reading Heads On and We Shoot tonight. I have never read another behind the scenes account on the making of a film, nor have a followed a film as closely as this one, but I have a hard time imagining any of them were like this one. Spike's closing letter was excellent and a humbling account of how incredibly challenging every aspect of this movie was; all the while being grateful for every second of it.

another celebration

a little while ago i celebrated my 100th blog post, and today I have reached another blogging landmark. today is the 100th post for my breadcrumb project. back in july i decided to start making a post once a day of a picture that in some way related to the days events whether it was something i had done, somewhere i had been, something i had seen, etc. Today marks the 100th 'breadcrumb'.
Recently I realized that I would be coming up on this post and decided to figure out both when it would be, and to see some of my past posts by starting from the beginning and looking through them. I realized that somehow the quarterly posts all, by chance, happened to be noteworthy pictures or events.

Picture 100 then was pressured because after realizing these pictures happened to coincide with those posts I thought about what I could have as my 100th picture while still wanting to not plan it out. Ultimately I decided not to plan it and see what I came across today. I took and am posting this picture because while it may seem mundane it has significance. This captures the final roster for my final semester at Fordham. Having registered this morning, I felt like it made sense to use this as my 100th image. How did we get to be choosing our final 4 or 5 (or less if you are that ahead) classes of our college careers already?

something to note

while this might not be entirely true i came to notice that most of the time, the pictures that end up taking place within the walls of this apt are usually because i didnt leave my apt much, if at all, that day. typically they will fall on a day off or a weekend day when theres just nothing going on. whether the picture i take was what i would have taken that day or not - it was still something i noticed.

dollhouse was probably at its best ever (aired eps of course - epitaph one is an unfair comparison) tonight and of course it ends with - returning in december...6 weeks! what is this the first two seasons of lost?! for a show that airs friday nights - you dont need to give people more reasons to stop tuning in. this is a major blow, in my opinion, to a show that saw a pick up in ratings last week due to the quality of the ep and is bound to have the same this week only to go silent for 6 weeks. its hard to keep the momentum when you do that.

white collar premiered tonight and i will absolutely be tuning in again. this show, while just kinda the last act of catch me if you can extended into a full series, is clever because, well - its got so much of what was great character wise from that movie - the lead just feels so crafty and clever while managing to be an extremely likeable character. the supporting cast while not bad hasnt done much else other than the detective/partner who has great chemistry. i hope this show stays on par.

lesson learned - chocolate fudge brownie for dinner = too much for my digestive system to handle. hoping this passes soon. ouch.

in other news im going home...again...
i do love going home and i dont like to say that previous statement with the apprehension i seem to be saying it with because i like home its just that this is the third time i will be going home and its becoming routine and in my senior year thats not something you want to be doing.

i am in the process of buying my midnight release ticket for WTWTA - if you know me then you are not surprised at all and maybe even just rolled your eyes. no worries - for you - the movie is out in one week and maybe then ill stop obsessing...maybe.

not going to apologize for it, though - i love this story and im not alone in it or in the excitement for this movie although the excitement that has been bubbling for the past 18 months with a picture here, a set update there and then finally the trailer last spring has the down side of ending with the release and while i am thrilled it is finally here, i have enjoyed the ride so much that i'll admit it is a shame to be losing out on that. i hope that weloveyouso.com still continues as its a site i have come to check daily for the 3 or 4 posts they have - usually infrequently regarding the film specifically. through them i have found a few bands, other blog sites, a few artists, and some foundations - and i hope that it continues for all of those aspects.

do yourself a favor and go ask tom murphy (or pat) for a copy of their cd. they are giving them away and its very good.

heat heat heat

boy is it getting warm quickly.  its hard to notice when you work in an office 40 hrs a week but spending 8 hours outside yesterday at work (2nd job) really rubbed in just how hot it was.  when you break a sweat in a t-shirt at 8 am water plants - you know its hot (unless you just sweat easily).

have yet to see a summer movie- although i finally caught taken (thanks to alex).  hopefully i will get to see brothers bloom tonight.  my plan to do wii fit daily was foiled by a series of days where i was responsible for making dinner for the family, and yard work but i will do my best to get back on it.  started reading, but like mike, have  struggled to make much progress.  

people start moving into their apts soon and im excited to see this new chapter begin - despite the continual hohum-ing from my suite mates i think it will be miles better than living on campus.  

im going to keep pushing www.weloveyouso.com as it is a really amazing blog to check out.  other than that - hope all is well. stay cool.

its about escaping

so this will be my final blog post...for a few days (fooled you..you being one of 3 people who reads this).  anyway...heading out to go camping with highschool friends for a few days.  pretty much 0 communication once we get there..so i will be cut off from the world and its one of the best parts of my year...i know i shouldnt argue how blissful it is to escape from the technological side of society for a few days since i indulge in facebook, always on instant messager, twitter, myspace, etc...but as much as i love those...days without them can be so refreshing.

anyway...by the time i return it will be the eve of so many friends graduations and to them and to everyone else this graduating this year - congratulations! and you will be missed around fordham.

finally - there are so many movies coming out this year..literally one a week for most of the summer, sometimes two in one weekend - but that is not where it ends..this fall promises to give us some incredible films - two of them were meant to come out last year but got delayed (hopefully for the better, although thats rare). both based on beloved books, one of our adult years and one of our childhood years - the road, and where the wild things are look to be absolutely brilliant.  the dudes who are working on WTWTA started a blog abotu 3 weeks ago with different bands, music vidoes, films, art that inspire them and in someway influence their work on WTWTA located at www.weloveyouso.com

the road, while nothing has been seen in a video format, - many stills have been released showing some pretty breathtaking locations/scenes.  the general description of the film/story is written as :Nothing moves in the ravaged landscape save the ash on the wind. It is cold enough to crack stones, and when the snow falls it is gray. The sky is dark. Their destination is the coast, although they don’t know what, if anything, awaits them there. They have nothing; just a pistol to defend themselves against the lawless bands that stalk the road, the clothes they are wearing, a cart of scavenged food—and each other.
