How Perfect
I was upset to be missing it, but I had a decent amount of time while commuting to the place to follow the game on my phone. Little did I know that when I came out after the group that not only with there be a 0 in the runs column, but also a 0 in the hits column. How could it be that not only do I miss game 1, but I missed watching a no-hitter be pitched for only the second time in baseball history in the post season. It's upsetting to know that such an event transpired when I was unable to see it happening. I wouldn't say I am mad because the last group session was really amazing and I am so glad I was there. There is also the consolation that, while I missed it, it still happened, and the Phils are still up 1-0 in the series with Roy round 2 coming to the mound tomorrow night.
Go Phils!

Fireworks or No Fireworks - Extra Innings Dilemma
Tonight I went to the Phillies game with my family and my relatives on my dad's side. It is a tradition we have had for a while now. My uncle works for Nova Care and thus has a company box. Every year near July 4th he gets the box for us for the fireworks game. Today was that day and, despite having seen amazing fireworks in Red Bank, NJ - I was really excited for these.
Unfortunately, the question mark that is Brad Lidge did not come through and the game was forced into extra innings. After no spark for 2 innings, I pulled the plug. It was almost 11. Typically, its a 30 minute interval between the end of the game and the start of the fireworks. The show itself lasts 20 minutes and then the traffic afterwards extends the 40 minute drive by a minimum of 20 minutes. I just didn't have it in me to stick it out. Two years ago the game went 14 innings and the fireworks started after 12:30. I am bummed, at least partially, that I did not stick it out. But I am sure I will be better off in the morning.

Relaxation
I slept in!
Today I slept in until 11 am. I woke up voluntarily. I had a mostly very laid back morning. Followed by an incredibly successful grad/memorial day party including playing The Black Keys as the party's music. Witnessing Roy Halladay's perfect game. Playing volleyball. Getting to know and play with Cooper (My sister's nephew). And topping it off with a trip to Llanerch.
All in all - very successful. Now, before I get behind on sleep again, I am getting in bed. Will open cards from people tomorrow and find out if I can afford that computer/have money again.

late again
this is i think the third time i have missed my deadline in order for the count to post for the day. now it will technically show up as november 5th despite it being my november 4th post. give me a break, though - the phils lost and on top of it i had a bunch of homework to do following the world series game. talk about insult to injury.
what an exciting series, though. i mean even 2 of the 4 we lost we almost pulled out. and one of the two we took almost went back to the yanks - you just never could feel safe in this series and that i think is a sign of how matched these teams were. in the end as much as there was chase utley, there was hideki. i still think chase gets it, though. i know hideki was awesome but chase put up a performance that was just mind blowing.
ok bed time.
(apologize for any spelling errors but it is 3:18 am)

i really need to carve my pumpkins
had a cool idea (relatively speaking) about using my 3 pumpkins which are comprised of 2 small ones and 1 big one between them into some kinda World Series-centric carvings. One yankees one phillies and then some kinda World Series thing in the middle/on the big one. Too corny?
Either way I need to carve them soon. Part of me wants to go all out - use one of those stencils and make a sweet face, the other part of me just wants to go traditional jack-o-lantern face. (partially because i dont have the tools to do anything too complicated).
need to get my horror movie on over the next few days too. think ill start tomorrow night after game 2 and watch a solid halloween horror flick and carve some pumpkins. thatll kick off this halloweekend well.
cheers.

coming home to family
came home today. went to pops house with my dad and we got a pizza and watched the phils game.
also came home to two movie passes sitting on my dresser. and in cleaning out my wallet i found another movie pass that i thought i had lost - that makes 3 AMC passes and 1 Regal pass from the regal rewards card. thats a decent amount of free flicks. time to catch up on the movies i missed.
