In other news, last night after getting out of night class I headed with Chris Mulgannon to Houston and 2nd ave (whole trip by foot btw) in an attempt to use my invitation from NYCmoviescreenings and see Paranormal Activity (low budget horror film) for free at an advanced screening. I was unaware that everyone who signs up gets 'invited' and that its first come first serve. I was also unaware at how many people would see a midnight movie during the week, especially when that movie is a severely underadvertised Blair-Witch style low budget horror movie. Lesson definitely learned. Free is free.
Night wasnt a waste - got Pinkberry (1st time) and spent an hour walking in areas of the city I had not walked through before. And in the long run I got home earlier which meant a bit more sleep before my earlier wake up to come home.
Caught up on my TV shows for the week - Fringe was good - lots of bits but fell back into the Monster-Of-The-Week and most dissapointingly - this had nothing to do with ZFT or the pattern - it was more like a page out of the X-files with a singe person and a bad science experiment.
Flashforward premiere was great - definitely had alot of Lost vibes but not in a bad way - was beautifully shot, and had a nice little teaser in it. looking forward to where this show will go.
Dollhouse came back tonight and while it had a less than stellar case-of-the-week the little bits about the personalities of the dolls leaking through, topher's 'contract' to make them certain ways and other tidbits were really great. I think if this show can really believe in itself and not try to function as a crime drama it will really take off - but until then it will revel in mediocrity with teases of greatness. it has alot of dreams i just hope it has the balls/time to elaborate on them.
this is long, and i apologize. to finish - everyone should check out the brand new album - Daisy. it is definitely another vibe different from their last albums and isnt as easy to jump into. they have taken a little less time considering the ears and ease of the listening process but the album is actually really incredible even if it takes a few listens to adapt to.
the end.
