Time To Shine

Tomorrow I have to test at the facility where I work. I have observed enough and have been deemed prepared enough to conduct the testing on my own under observation. I am a little nervous. Fingers crossed!

Finished My First Week

It seems like graduation and finals were more than a week ago. This past week has been absolutely packed to the gills. I realized tonight that I have not gotten more than 6 hours of sleep in 2 weeks now. No wonder I was closing my eyes at work. That is to be no commentary on the job.

Regardless, its 11 pm on a Friday night at the end of my first week and I am too exhausted to tell you about it. Take that how you'd like. Let me know when I wake up.

Memorial Day/Graduation Party tomorrow! (just found out its being catered - bummed by the lack of grilling, pumped about the lessening of work/prep).

Where Will It Go?

I have a lot of stuff. People who know me are aware of this. Recently I occupied an apartment in NY for a year. Moving back into my parents' house has posed several problems in regard to this stuff. It was difficult enough to find places for everything from my dorm room. Now, I have an apartment's worth of stuff to fit into this house somewhere. Clothes alone do not fit - then there is boxes of books and lamps, music equipment, etc.

Oh and did I mention there is a time line on it. Every night this week so far I have had stuff to do. Tonight I did not get back home until 10:30. We have a Memorial Day party this Saturday in the afternoon. Somehow between after work tomorrow and the party I have to totally put away everything from NY as well as help prep the house for the party.

In other breaking news - I have 90 dollars left the in bank. It costs 10 dollars a day to get into the city by train. My car inspection is scheduled for next Tuesday and I also need an oil change. Because I don't start working on the books until next week and it is a bi-weekly pay schedule I am really wondering how this is going to work out.

Sleepy

This no-time-off is going to kill me if I don't start making smarter decisions about bed times and such. That is why I am going to NY tomorrow after work for a concert. Smart.

New Beginnings

I'd write more but my internet is not being too kind. Simply - I am home. College has ended. My first day of work starts in 9 hours. Wish me luck!

Well not literally. I don't work at the or for the subway. But if you were to take the subway to where I work, this is where you would take it to.

The end of another chapter

And perhaps a section. Today was my last day of work over winter break. I worked for 17 days this winter break, which may be the longest working break I have had. Tomorrow I head back to New York city for my final semester as an undergrad.

Today marks just one more 'last day of work' for me as I have been working breaks, both summer and winter, at a full time position since mid-high school. This last day of work might represent something a little more substantial. Unless I find myself in New Castle, Delaware over spring break this year, which is unlikely, then today represents my final day of work as a student, an intern, a work day without being in the 'real world' or the 'working world'. The next time I take a position or go to work I will be a college grad. It's scary to think about.

I had some other things I wanted to talk about today - witnessed ECTs this morning, my one and only diner trip, and more reflections on where I am in life right now. Unfortunately it is 2 am and I am getting up in 7 hours to pack the car. It has been a little while since I slept 7 hours and so I am going to retire.

El Fin

So, I have made it home. Today was a whirlwind. I can't believe how things unfolded with studying, the tests, a potential position on a pretty incredible research study, and after it all - driving straight home. I am jumping right in bed tonight, friends. I start work tomorrow and there are only a few hours between now and when I have to be up.

another first

believe it or not, today was the first time i went to a post office to send out a letter. I have been to the post office before with my parents, or to buy stamps, or that one time i needed a passport. But I never really sent things by mail when I lived at home, and until this year we had a Mail Center in the basement of McGinley that I only used once to send mail out (not counting netflix). It is just one of those things you never think about until you need it.

Anyway, the trip was nice and it led me to find out where the nearest post office is. It is actually 2 blocks down on my street - how convenient.

Today, after about a month of pretty consisntenly having work to do, reading to do, papers to do, studying to do, and most recently - video editing to do - I had no need to be doing anything. So I spent my day on the couch in front of the t.v. watching 9 straight episodes of Freaks and Geeks - a show of which I can only say that I can't believe I have not been made aware or been urged to see it before. It's great. And as Andrew Mai put it - it is a show that whose premise could be filling each episode with 'That guy?' moments. They happen at least twice an episode. Id mention some big shockers, but then Id spoil it for you - get the series - its one season, 18 eps.

it felt like summer, i guess it still is

i had plans to get some shit accomplished today and really had plenty of time to do so, but alas i didnt. instead o enjoyed myself, ran into a few people, saw some friends apartments for the first time, and spent a chunk of my day on eddies tossing the frisbee. im either out of shape or dont realize how much physical activity is involved in running around for 45 minutes chasing the frisbee because i was definitely quite soaked and sore afterwards. worth it.

i have alot of time off until classes start again. goals for tomorrow - research new job options and buy my books online. potential problem - house marathon on USA tomorrow. ive seen them all, but its just so addicting. ive been told i spend too much of my life watching/planning around tv. i cant argue with that.

packing: part 2 of 3

im really not gonna write about packing again other than to say my plan of putting all my clothes in bags failed when i realized too late that we have no bags - so theyr sitting in a pile on my floor.

today was the last day of work. it remains to be seen if i will be allowed to work there form my apartment. fingers crossed.

on my way to and from work fro a few years now ive passed this hill in the midst of a series of windy back roads that was mainly dirt for awhile. then over the course of the end of last summer i notice some activity and in the winter there was construction. now every day (that im alert enough to realize where i am) i look out my window at this place. its not the biggest house of seen or the most elaborate but something about this place just causes me to look up day after day.
